Welcome to site of the Parish of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. Located in Montgomery County, one of the five counties of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, it was founded in the Marian year 1954. Small in both geographical and population size, the parish has a welcoming attitude towards all who sincerely wish to practice their Catholic Faith and deepen both their understanding and piety. Sundays the celebrations (at 5pm Saturday and 8.30 and 10.30 Sunday) are reasonably well attended (for post-Covid) and have excellent music. Both priests aim their homilies at the effect of our faith on us and what we should accomplish on this Earth as disciples of the Lord. The parish has a parking lot with 168 spaces.
Our works of mercy include collecting food and useful items for Saint John’s Hospice and bags of groceries for the needy which are distributed throughout the Archdiocese’s Nutritional Development Program which has over 50 food pantries. We have Eucharistic Adoration at the old convent chapel. Sadly we no longer have a parish school but our children can attend any of the surrounding parish school’s with the usual subsidy or the local public school and the religious education program.
During and after Covid the regular scheduled meetings for the Parish and Finance Councils were thrown into disarray and in order to restore a timely and workable consultation, there will now be only one council with responsibility for both finances and pastoral initiatives. This is done because of the smaller parish size, the overworked parishioners and how capable our members are in matters religious and financial. Remember always that our mission statement is found at the end of the Gospel of Mark where the Lord tells the Eleven to go out and make disciples of all the nations and baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
If you are new to our Parish introduce yourself to me after any of the weekend Masses and if you’re visiting please do the same and you’ll receive a warm welcome.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Father Eduardo G. Montero
Pastor and Assistant Judicial Vicar
